Such a misnomer! Community should be equated with exclusion. Forming a community leads to an insider/outsider mentality – us and them. Community is defined as a grouping of like individuals. It is the narrowing of so-called likes that do the most damage. Start at the beginning: the community of human beings or, better yet, the grouping of beings. Put them into the alive or dead community. One is easier to interact with, while the other illicit memories and leaves behind precedents of behavior, patterns followed then by select groups, creating more divisions. Both exclude. Both create boundaries. Personally, I have never benefitted from communities, usually on the outside looking in because that is my choice, not theirs!
