Short spurts of thought from Pam Hicks: web designer, videographer, retired Special Education instructor, and fiction writer. Let her help you create a video biography through storytelling.

It feels good. That is why I volunteer. Not for praise or verbal thanks, but because I enjoy contributing my skills and love creating something worthwhile. Presently, I created and monitor three nonprofit web sites and am starting my fourth. I do it for free. Project Safer continues to be my proudest endeavor. It provides necessary information for First Responders dealing with vulnerable populations. West Olympic Stories is a domain and web site I created during a leadership training in Forks, WA. While my team members lost interest, I continued the endeavor because, as a fiction writer (one published book), I believe in the power of words. And my last project was completed this week: Sekiu Community Center web site. It highlights a building built in 1916 and used by the community for various events today. Yes, it does take up hours of hard work, but the photography, the video editing, the HTML and CSS coding is fun. I wouldn’t do it otherwise!
